Tye Kartye Parents Todd Kartye and Richelle Kartye

Tye Kartye parents are Todd Kartye and Richelle Stevenson Kartye. Todd is a chemistry teacher at Bayridge Secondary School in Ontario.

The Kartye clan traveled to Denver from Kingston to watch their son make his NHL debut in Game 5 of the playoffs for the Seattle Kraken.

They missed the beginning of the game but arrived in time to see Kartye score the go-ahead goal in a 3-2 win over the Colorado Avalanche. 

In addition to Tye’s goal, Morgan Geekie contributed with two shots on goal, 1 point, and 1 goal, helping the Seattle secure the phenomenal victory over the Avalanche.

Kartye signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Seattle Kraken on March 1, 2022. He previously played three seasons for Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds in the ONL.

Tye Kartye Family Background

The 21-year-old left winger grew up in a supportive household. Richelle and Todd traveled over 1,600 miles to watch their son play in the NHL.

When they found out Kartye was playing, they rushed to the airport, booked a hotel in downtown Denver, and made it to the game just in time to watch their son score his first goal.

They were so proud of him and all the hard work he had put in to make it to this point. They celebrated with joy and ecstasy in the stands.

Tye Kartye dad Todd Kartye is a high school chemistry teacher. He was nominated for the prestigious Baillie Award for Excellence in Secondary School Teaching from Queen’s University in 2012.

The award recognizes outstanding educators who demonstrate excellence in teaching and inspire their students to achieve great things. For Todd, teaching is about conveying knowledge, igniting a passion in his students, and helping them discover their full potential. 

Tye Kartye mom Richelle Kartye is a seasoned Clinical Learning Cardiac Specialist who has rendered her services at KGH for six years.

In her role, she is responsible for imparting expert guidance and training to the cardiac unit’s clinical staff and ensuring that they stay up-to-date with the latest developments in the cardiology field.

Tye Kartye has a sister named Talya Kartye in the lineage. Talya is a second years nursing student at Trent University.

As mentioned on her LinkedIn page, Talya worked at a long-term care facility in her hometown during the summer. Her ultimate goal is to become an emergency room nurse, inspired by her matriarch, who is also a nurse. 

In addition to her professional aspirations and personal life, Talya’s pictures can be easily found on social media. She has posted multiple images that provide a glimpse into her personal life. 

Among these pictures is one that showcases her time as a basketball player for the Kingston Impact Major Bantam Girls, highlighting her athletic achievements.

Additionally, Talya is an active user of Facebook, where she has shared information about her studies and the place where she and her brother grew up. Her bio also includes a note about selling some of her unworn clothes, asking interested individuals to contact her via text message.

Tye Kartye girlfriend Monik Pigeau is a graduate of Sault College. Tye made his relationship with Monik public in March 2020. 

Monik has shared multiple adorable pictures of herself and Kartye spending quality time together in Ontario on Facebook. Her social media page is brimming with their cute images and their recent quick vacation to Palm Springs, California, on April 11, 2023.

Before Tye’s NHL debut with the Seattle Kraken, Pigeau made a social media post announcing the exciting news. She highlighted that Tye would be debuting on the first line in game 5 of round one playoffs.

Monik grew up in Sault Sainte Marie with her sister, Nikole Pigeau. She was born as the daughter of Marney Napierkoski and Ralf Pigeau. Her mother completed her academic degree at Sault College and Mount St. Joseph College.
